Delete your Ponderanda data
This page is about Ponderanda, the daily mental arithmetic app published by Emberfig. Last updated 15 August 2026.
The short version. Ponderanda has no account, so there is nothing to close and no request to send. Everything the app stores about you is on your own device, and one control erases all of it immediately.
How to delete your data
In the app:
- Open Ponderanda
- Tap SETTINGS in the top-right of any screen
- Scroll to the bottom, to Privacy
- Tap Erase local data
That deletes everything listed below, on the spot. It cannot be undone, and we hold no copy to restore it from.
Uninstalling the app has the same effect: Android removes the app's private storage with it.
On the web version, clear site data for
ponderanda.com in your browser's settings.
If you would rather ask us, write to hello@emberfig.com, but please read the next section first, because for most of what people mean by "my data", we have nothing on our side to delete.
What is deleted
All of the following is stored only on your device, and all of it is removed by Erase local data or by uninstalling:
| Your answers and solve times | Every answer you gave, whether it was right, and how long it took |
|---|---|
| Which days you played | Puzzle days attempted, and how far you got in each |
| Your streaks | Attempt streak, perfect streak and rest days |
| Your reminder | The time you chose and the habit you attached it to |
| Your settings | Colour theme and any themes you have unlocked |
Retention: none after deletion. This data is erased immediately and is not retained anywhere, because it was never sent anywhere.
What is kept, and why it cannot be deleted
The daily counter
When you finish a day's attempt, the app adds 1 to a counter recording how many problems that attempt got through, so the app can tell you what share of players stopped at the same problem.
That write carries no account, no device identifier, no session identifier and nothing about which problems you saw. It is one number added to a running total.
This cannot be deleted on request, and we want to be plain about why: there is no way to identify which increments were yours. Nothing was stored that could connect them to you, to your device, or to each other. It is not that we decline to look. There is nothing to look up.
Retention: indefinite. The counters are whole numbers describing a puzzle day, not a person.
Your advertising ID (Android only)
The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob, which receives your device's advertising ID. That identifier belongs to your device and is held by Google, not by us, so we cannot delete it for you. You can:
- Delete it entirely: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID. Apps, including this one, can no longer receive it.
- Change your consent: in Ponderanda, Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Ask Google: via Google's privacy policy and their own data controls.
Retention: set by Google, under their policies.
The web version shows no ads and has no advertising identifier.
What we never had in the first place
There is no account, no email address, no password and no profile. Ponderanda does not collect your name, contacts, location, photos, files or messages, and uses no analytics or crash-reporting service. There is nothing of that kind to delete because none of it was ever collected.
Full detail is in the privacy policy.
